Vids from Fallout 3
HD Versions on the Official Site Youtube versions below.
(If you want to skip the plot and go straight to some combat violence, watch Video 4 – Super Duper Mart. If pneumatic fists that can punch people’s faces off are your thing you might enjoy that one.)
For real and substantial choices between good and evil there is no one else that even comes close to the Fallout universe. For all Bioshock and Mass Effect’s claims that they had true choices and consequences, they really led you down the path of good or evil and that was that. Fallout lets you explore the dusty moral wastelands in between; which is a far more vast and interesting territory, don’t you think?
These videos may become available on xbox live. I’m going to go check.
“Sometimes I wonder if I replayed my life in fast forward
if it would look like a big blur with a guy in the middle
masturbating in front of a computer.”
The Mysthbusters: Moon Hoax episode was as expected. A game of knocking down strawmen. It was actually well done for what it was and did a very good job of making the Moon Hoax theory look silly.
Here’s some clips:
Photo Hoax 1 * Photo Hoax 2
(They do not mention that the Hasselblad film nor camera had any radiation shielding or that the camera was attached to the chests of the astronauts and therefore it was very difficult to aim despite the myriads of perfect shots. Even my cellphone photos take a bit of working sometimes.) Flag Flapping
(What about the astronaut who walks by with no atmosphere and causes the flag to flap?) Footprint * Retroreflectors * Moonwalk
Well, as they say, that’s BUSTED! I guess the Moon Landing wasn’t fake.
Right?
In case you missed it…
Cats With Wings
The headline is “Ready for take-off, Tiddles?”
In the queen’s english, tiddles is having a piss. “Oh, the cat just tiddled on the carpet!”
Anyway, that is not the point.
This is:
Can we agree now that DNA already contains the blueprints for each of the pieces we find in nature? Like in the game SPORE? Just drag em over!
SPORE coming September 7th, 2008! You can actually pre-load 99% of the game now and then fight with millions of other internet users on d-day for that last 1%.

Amongst other things.
Although sharing a pipe with someone who has a cold is probably still a bad idea.
“Cinemax Reel Life presents an unusual film that tells the story of a man who doesn’t really exist, at least not in the flesh-and-blood world: Molotov Alva, a virtual character that filmmaker Douglas Gayeton conceived to escape the real world. The first documentary shot entirely in a virtual online platform, Molotov Alva and His Search for the Creator: A Second Life Odyssey explores this new plane of interaction, and introduces us to its inhabitants.”
–
Second Life is an artificial reality that is somewhat reflective of our own reality and is often organized in a similar fashion. A telephone would be found on a desk. A desk in a room. A room in a building. And so on… this doesn’t have to be the case, but mostly it is.
“Well, of course that’s true,” you say. “This is because we are human and we are recreating the material world in a 3D simulation environment because we already have the knowledge and expectations of how those things function.”
“Ah,” says I. “But isn’t our environment just a 3D recreation of the landscape of our mental constructs? Just as second life is a 3D simulation of our material world?”
“But wait,” says you, “That may be true of man-made things, but the landscape of our earth environment was already here before us. In the structure of that environment: trees are a subset of Earth-bound things, branches are a subset of trees, leaves are a subset of the branches, and so on. The environment is the reality that we mirror the structure of our thoughts on. For instance, in the same vein as above: when i think of the earth i think of a tree, when i think of a tree i think of a branch. So you could just as easily say that the topography of our mental landscape is the recreation and that our Earthbound life is the reality.”
“Could you?” inquires I. “Each sound that reaches my ear is just a vibration that has traveled a distance to get here. Each light beam is a vibration has done the same. As they do not travel instantaneously it means they have originated from sometime in the past. For instance, the sun that you see is actually the sun of 7 minutes ago because it takes that long for the light to get here. When you hear a car coming down the highway the broadcasting location of the sound of the wheels against the pavement you hear is actually somewhat behind the present-time location of the tires of the vehicle. It’s all relative to the location of me and that “physical location” is only given relevance by the disparate time of something else’s present and my own.
So the farther away from “me” sounds or lights are the more it means the objects I am seeing or hearing are actually located in my past. You can imagine, like ripples in a pond, bubbles of “pastness” expanding out from your present location.
(Editor’s Note: At least, you can if you’ve played Braid – i.e. the level with the ring. Braid, Portal, Prey, even the crap movie Jumper have all been preparing us with a better mental vocabulary for dealing with multiple dimensions for some reason. 2012 prep school?)
This is almost quantifiable proof that I am “the now.” The eternal present exists within me and is most definitely a mental construct because my brain forged this picture from divergent vibrations in the homogeneity of the aether.”
“What’s your point?” says you.
“I’ve forgotten,” says I. “And actually, this blog has gotten way too long so I need to cut it short. Maybe I could put it all in an animated short for you?”
“It’s a fair cop,” says you. “See you later.”
I have to link to Daniel Dennett’s Where am I? again because you missed it the first time. Seriously, you have to read this. I will keep linking to it until you do.
Six Degrees of Separation, Hold the Bacon
As per the above conversation, you could say that the internet is a 4D simulation of our mental landscape and therefore an even closer approximation to the way we organize thought. Unlike our present reality, it bridges both time and space. It contains both present pages and past pages simultaneously and there is no true distance between objects/pages.
I tried to create a forum game for the Synchromystics, but it isn’t doing so well so far.
The premise was that we connect so many things across the mental divide, what if we gave ourselves two random things and tried to connect them. Could we do it? And would that itself have significance, or even lead us to links that had significance? The net result could mean that everything was connected causally.
Anyway, you know those bulletin board games people play? Like, “hurt and heal” or “rate the avatar above you” or “would you have sex with…”? (If you don’t, not to worry, they are very stupid games and I refuse to link to them.)
In order for the game to take off on bulletin boards around the world with that kind of appeal it would need more substance and challenge than just synchromystic banter, but the net result could be that an entire generation of innate synchromystics would be born!
So the non-synchro rules would be to connect two random pages on the internet through 6 or less links.
1. TomCruiseisnuts.com links to msnbc
2. through msnbc i can link to msn.com 3. through msn i can search for myTriggers.com
4. through mytriggers.com i can search for ‘used panties‘ 5. clicking on ‘See It’ for the fourth link down gets me: 6. To that exact sloggi panty page on figleaves.com
How did I do that? I don’t normally search for used panties. I had to backtrack from the destination in order to find a spot where the starting point could also reach. Strangely enough, you would think I could have just gotten there with the msn search engine, but it went to every sloggi panty except the one I wanted to link to! Finally I found a way by going through the triggers site. Taa-daa! (I picked those pages at random. I didn’t even know what a sloggi tai panty was until 10 minutes ago. Actually, I’m still not sure I know.)
The Obama Phenoma
Well, I watched the convention. I actually had PiP (picture-in-picture) going so I could play Texas Hold ‘Em whilst watching the convention on the other side of the TV. I don’t like Texas Hold ‘Em, but I’m trying to learn to be more aware of everyone else’s hand instead of just my own. For a person who has devoted their life to being honest I just can’t get into a game that revolves around deception. At least, until I win more often, which I don’t.
I winced at some of the pandering and text messaging requests (reminds me of when Bob Dole told us to go to dubya-dubya-dubya-bob-dole-dot-com during that painful debate), but whilst my conspiracy compatriots think that Obama will herald the end of the world because they feel that he is “too perfect” I would prefer to think that the imperfections of our current system have forced the hand of a remedy to emerge. We must change or our species will die… so we change.
I actually think of the Obama issue in a very Fox Mulderish kind of way:
I was playing xbox with some younger folks and was very disparaged by the way they were talking about Obama. Kids are so cynical these days (#1 youtube comment: “Fake!”) Many of the things they stated were lies made whole cloth and passed along as urban facts. Me thinks my Christian friend needs a good ass-kicking from Jesus because there is no way in hell that the mythological Jesus would want anger-management-issues-McCain stomping around on the world stage.
His original argument to me was about Obama and the abortion issue. If reincarnation really happens then by eliminating abortion are we not condemning souls to unwanted vessels which might not be the best earth vacation they could have chosen for themselves? As I’ve said before, according to their own guidebook we would also be eliminating the personal choice of “good” and “evil” which I thought was the point of the game in the first place.
“What if I told you that God and the devil made a wager,
a kind of standing bet for the souls of all mankind?” – John Constantine
I seriously doubt Obama has faked this personality his whole life as they seem to claim. Written falsified books that he doesn’t believe, a falsified history of compassionate deeds and words, all so he could get across some insidious agenda? I don’t think so. I know I’ve fallen for democrats promising me nice things before (and who knows, maybe the Illuminati thumbscrews only go on after you get elected), but I really feel that Obama is going to try and do it right this time – as long as nobody takes him away from us. The seed of hope is planted nevertheless.
One of the things I like to say about Obama is that, “You can’t fake depth.” Even if you could fake wisdom by copying other people’s wise thoughts (ah ha, like this blog!) then you’d still get caught out when you had to respond to something off the cuff. And you know, if someone who is not genuinely wise gives you wisdom, don’t you still end up with a pocket full of wisdom?

Fear and Loathing have some amazing convention photos as well as some of jack booted thugs before the police-initiated “riot” against peaceful protesters. Even Rage Against the Machine gets in on the action.
During the hype-up an early campaign clip was played with Obama saying something to the effect of, “I know you’ve been dicked over before by politicians, but I’m really trying to get some shit done here so help a brother out.” and it moved me because they did help (in grassroots numbers we’ve never seen before! Thank you Howard Dean for starting the trend! I’m sorry the media defied the will of the people and assassinated your chances with an audio clip) and now here Obama is, the candiadate for president, against so many monumental odds. As an eternal optimist I think I believe him. He also told me, “I will make mistakes and sometimes we will disagree on what is right, but I will listen and try to understand.” What an incredible contrast to Bush ‘the decider’. What a respectful gesture to our intelligence.
Even if I didn’t believe his words I would support the fact that so many people do, that so many are believing in hope and change and compassion again that they are bound to create hope and change and compassion in themselves. They are bound to not ‘let it slide’ if things don’t move in the direction we’ve come to envision as our ideal. Call it the hundredth monkey ‘hope and change’ bomb. He’s made the promises now and we want to see them come to pass: end oil dependence in 10 years, honest government with participation by the people, hope, compassion, an end to war, a salve to the bitterness of our black history and our abusive military history, economic stability, helping those in need, a philosopher king? It’s on! Let’s go.
Even if he isn’t the man to deliver then we will vote for the promise. Again and again. All things are forged from thought and the Illuminati should know as much as any not to tempt us with so great a fruit. They thought they had us fooled: by making us believe in a country that cherished things like freedom, equality, the rights of all men, and democracy. They thought they could keep us quiet and compliant by repeating the illusions and not delivering the goods. But they have made a mistake because the lie has shown us what we can be and we will settle for nothing less.
