I once posted about Be Here Now as it had been recommended to me, but I hadn’t read it at the time.
I once posted a video of Mason Jennings playing Be Here Now at the Botanical Gardens. I still hadn’t read it.
I saw it at Barnes and N0ble. I bought it for only $15.15.
So now I’ve read it.
People will ask Mia and I, “So what have you been up to lately?” and often we can’t remember anything to say. But then I bust out these pictures and it seems like we’ve done a lot of stuff.
Richmond city roller girls, my folk’s dance studio open house, full moon island, close encounters of the third kind.
108 Cellphone Pictures, cause it’s a magic number.

(and from friends! Max went to NYC for 2 weeks.)
What if some channeled information actually had a detectable ‘genuineness’ and practical use far beyond that of calculable reductionism and rational intellectualism? Would it matter if it actually came from the subconscious or self-delusion? Or an “alien being”? Or an undetectable (scientifically) dimension of consciousness integrated with our own? If you felt happier, if your ego and emotions could be controlled from leading you towards suffering, if you could learn to forgive yourself and others, if you felt a palpable calm and satisfaction internally in a way that you didn’t before, if you could see others as parts of yourself to be healed and not hurdles to be overcome; does it matter where the information came from? All stories are just that. Be they scientific, fiction, fantasy, self-help, religious, emotional. We needn’t be so quick to dismiss. What actually matters is not the data, but your internal compass heading as a result of interpreting it. The more you can refine your heading the better because that is what you are here for and the aggregate of all of our headings determine the world we live in. Like Aesop’s the stories of our lives are all notches on the windrose, teaching the interconnectedness of all things, detachment from form and limitations, free will and our power to create the world without from the world within, service to others, forgiveness, how to give and receive true love. No matter what heading you take, what story you internalize, everyone finds the same place eventually, even if it doesn’t happen in your current life-cycle iteration. Time is just an intervening procrastination towards our realization, slap on the forehead “AH-HA!” moment, and then gradual reintegration with the whole. It’s quite charming, really. I’m very impressed with the set-up.
